Ford Ranger Not Returning to US

Ford is set to unveil the new next-generation Ranger at the 2010 Australian International Motor Show in October. The car is based on a Ford global platform, and will be up for sale in 180 global markets - except the United States and Canada.

According to Autoblog writer Derrick Kuzak, "Ford's group vice president of global product development, said that the automaker does not plan to launch the Ranger, a compact pickup developed in Australia, at this time."

"It's an all-new truck with new powertrains that promise truck leadership in markets outside of North America," said Kuzak.

1947 Mercury - Original Drop Top

The Mercury range of cars began with Edsel Ford in 1939 as a midlevel line of vehicles between the Ford and LINCOLN divisions. The American auto maker went on to produce some of the most iconic vehicle designs ever, including the 1939 Coupe, 1949 Coupe, 1954 Monterey and the Mercury Cougar.

Over the years he's owned a handful of Mercury models, including…

The 2011 LINCOLN MKZ Hybrid, which is available to test drive now at dealership lots, has been rated with a 47 mile max EV range, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Meaning that's how…

Ford EcoBoost V6 and V8

Just a few years ago, many vehicles large and small came with V8 options under their hoods. Today, the V6 is king - and if you want V8 like power you'll probably end up with an turbocharged engine.

Ford's new EcoBoost 3.5-liter V6, which has been engineered for light-duty trucks, delivers 365 horsepower and 420-pounds feet of torque. That's as high as any V-8.

Where can you find such a powerful engine? It will be offered in the 2011 F-150 pickup next year, according to a Ford announcement Monday.

Reducing the number of cylinders in a powerplant…
