Ford's beloved Explorer has been named North American Truck of the Year at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, beating out two rivals? the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. Presented by a jury of 49 veteran automotive journalists from Canada and the United States, the Award is deemed highly prestigious. To be eligible to win, vehicles must be "all-new" or otherwise "substantially changed" from the previous model.
