The new 2018 Ford Escape has recently gone through a huge number of changes to refresh the way it looks. It is one of the top-ranked vehicles in reviews for the fact that it is so well-packaged compared to the other options in its segment. The Escape has performed great for Ford for over ten years now. The third remake has been on the market for over five years and has sold heavily in a market that is completely saturated. The Escape is only second to the F-150 in terms of sales for Ford.

If you look at the engine and the amount of acceleration you can get out of the 2018 Escape you will see that it includes a 2.0–liter EcoBoost engine option that gives you 245 horsepower and 275 lb/ft of torque. The engine can go from zero to sixty in 7.1 seconds which makes it one of the top accelerators in its class. As for the start/stop feature, it works so smoothly you barely even notice it. Those who have tried competitors’ start/stop features in the past and disliked them should give the Escape a try.

There are three different engines available from which to choose. There is a 2.5–liter four-cylinder to start with that will give you 168 horsepower and 170 lb/ft of torque. The turbocharged middle engine is a 1.5–liter EcoBoost with 179 horsepower and 177 lb/ft of torque. Finally, you can choose the 2.0–liter turbo that gives you 245 horsepower and 275 lb/ft of torque. Any of the three options that you choose will be set up with a six-speed automatic transmission and upper trim levels include paddle shifters.

Another great feature of this new 2018 Escape for sale in Kansas City – offered on the higher trim levels is the advanced active park assist feature. This can take all of the anxiety out of parallel or perpendicular parking for you. All you have to do when using this feature is change gears and control the brakes and gas – the Escape will do the rest. You will also be able to use this system to exit a parking spot – a feature not offered on any other vehicle in the segment. A few more features that are offered are a collision warning, adaptive cruise control, adaptive headlights and automatic emergency braking.

The exterior has had a few changes to it as well. The grille on the front is different and makes the vehicle look like the smaller Ford Edge. The grille also makes the Escape look more rugged in appearance and you have a new sports package available to you that give it blacked out features and enhance this look. There are also LED headlights on the new 2018 Ford Escape and there are adaptive headlights available.

A new feature that is available is the electronic parking brake. This is cutting edge and will give you more storage space availability in the center console. The newly available cubby is designed specifically as a phone holder and is located near the USB ports for easier access to charging or the ability to use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay depending on the type of phone you have. Another great change that has been added to the inside is the new steering wheel that you can actually choose to get heated for your comfort.

There is some big news on the driving dynamics of the 2018 Ford Escape for sale in Kansas City. The first thing we will look at is the two new EcoBoost engines. The first one is a 1.5–liter turbo with four cylinders and the second one is a 2.0–liter with four cylinders and a twin-scroll turbocharger. Both of the new engines come standard with start/stop and this helps the fuel economy of the vehicle by up to 6%. One of the nice features is that the start/stop will not engage if you are driving in extreme temperatures.

You can choose front-wheel drive but the all-wheel drive option reads the road conditions every sixteen milliseconds while you are driving. With the AWD, you are able to transfer all of the power to the front or rear wheels depending on where you need it. The AWD is amazing and always makes you feel like you are in control because it holds traction no matter the conditions you are driving in. Because of the new parking brake feature, the new features for the engine and the AWD/4WD options, the new Ford Escape is easy to drive, familiar and dependable. It has everything you are looking for in a modern crossover vehicle.

The technology that you will find new in the 2018 Ford Escape is built around SYNC. SYNC 3 supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is now SYNC Connect and the all-new FordPass app available for your smartphones. The SYNC Connect app allows you to use the FordPass app for remote access to your vehicle and real-time status updates on your vehicle. The handiness of this is that you can start your car remotely, check how much gas you have, lock your car, remind yourself where you parked and get reminders for service appointments. The Escape is the first Ford to get access to this new feature and it is free for five years. Later this year you will see it available in the Fusion as well. SYNC 3 is also considered to be one of the best infotainment systems out in the industry and is very easy for you to interact with.

The new Ford Escape definitely deserves the distinction of being one of the top-selling crossovers out there. All the new features make it one of the most comfortable rides available and excellent if you are planning on taking a road trip anytime soon. You can equip it with the right engine and setup and it can handle anything you might throw at it.
