Ford Announced a New 2021 Bronco: the Bronco Sport
Reserve Your New SUV Through Our Kansas Ford Dealership Website
If you couldn’t tell, we’re already incredibly excited for Ford’s re-release of the Bronco, an off-road capable, rugged SUV with tons of character and flash – one we haven’t seen the likes of in 25 years. In fact, excited might be an understatement in a year so full of hard-hitting and unwelcome surprises. That’s why when we heard the latest news, we knew we had to share it with you as quickly as possible. Recently, Ford Motor Company added a new Bronco model to the options, and it has us even more over the moon than before. We’re excited to introduce you to the Bronco Sport!
The Sport fills the gap for those who love the look and lines of the new Bronco, but don’t necessarily need its bulk and rugged bells and whistles. And starting around $28,000, it’s also the most affordable version of the Bronco. The main difference consumers will see is its size; it’s styled with the same heritage-inspired aesthetics and comes with many of the Bronco’s capabilities, but is simply smaller.
Features of the Bronco Sport for Sale near Kansas City
Essentially a crossover and in direct competition with some of the smaller Jeep models on the market, the Bronco Sport comes with all-wheel drive (four-wheel drive available), a spacious cabin (it’ll hold two mountain bikes), and lots of driver-assist features.
The Bronco Sport shares a platform with the widely popular Ford Escape compact crossover. The base engine is 181-horsepower with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder, but those with a need for speed can upgrade to a 245-horsepower turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Both come with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Just as its big brother Bronco comes in lots of trim levels suited for off-roading and all terrains, so does the Sport. The Badlands and First Edition come standard with a twin-clutch rear-drive unit with differential lock, all-terrain tires on 17” wheels, and one-inch suspension lift for added ground clearance. We’ll take a more in-depth look at the specifics of these trim levels soon!
If you’re intrigued by the Bronco’s G.O.A.T. (Goes Over All Types of Terrain) modes, the Sport has those, too, along with a safari-style roof and flip-up liftgate glass. Basically, if you’re looking for a companion vehicle to take along on all your outdoor or urban adventures, the Bronco Sport fits the bill. And you’ll soon be able to buy one at our Kansas City Ford dealership!
Inside the New Bronco Sport
For a compact SUV, the Bronco Sport boasts plenty of interior room. It’s feature-rich, too, for those looking for the extras inside.
Although Ford hasn’t released the interior measurements, they promise the Bronco Sport is the most spacious crossover in its class. Because the roofline rises in the rear, there’s extra headroom and cargo volume for bulkier items. The cargo hold also can be outfitted with a slide-out table that doubles as a work space, a 400-watt power inverter, built-in bottle opener, and LED lights. We think that sounds just perfect for camping trips at the lake. Rubberized flooring and easy-to-clean upholstery is icing on the cake for this one; it’s the perfect option for the outdoorsman, the dog mom, the plant lover, and everyone else.
Every Bronco Sport is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen with Ford’s Sync 3 software, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Upgrades for SiriusXM satellite radio and a Bang & Olufsen audio system are available as options. Touch-sensitive controls and voice commands operate the infotainment interface with ease – although you can still use the buttons if you prefer the old-school controls.
New SUV Trim Levels for Every Missouri or Kansas Driver
Like the standard Bronco, the Bronco Sport comes in a few trim levels that increase incrementally in price, although the Wildtrak and Black Diamond are not available for the smaller Bronco.
The Big Bend version comes with 17-inch carbonized gray wheels, rubberized cargo floor, cloth seats, rear center armrest, zipper pockets on the backs of the front seats, push-button start, two-way manual rear folding seats, heated side mirrors, SiriusXM, and “Bronco” printed in white on the grille.
The Outer Banks adds a black roof, 18-inch black aluminum wheels, a 6.5-inch digital instrument panel, leather-trimmed and heated eight-way adjustable power front seats, heated leather steering wheel, rain-sensing windshield wipers, rear-window de-icer, and remote start.
Badlands comes with the larger EcoBoost engine, off-road suspension, 4×4 twin-clutch rear-drive unit, 28.5-inch tires, eight-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift paddles, metal “bash plates,” trail control, 180-degree camera, front tow hooks, a full-size spare tire, and rubberized flooring.
Like the larger Bronco, the Bronco Sport also is available in its own special First Edition – and only 2,000 will be manufactured for the model year. The First Edition includes all the features from the Badlands trim level and adds 17-inch black wheels, a special grille with “Bronco” molded into it – like the full-size Bronco – black hood decals, 29-inch tires, a Class II towing package, 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, powered and heated leather front seats, moonroof, and special body colors, like Area 51, the hue that, earlier this year, we predicted would be popular!
